children's chapel

After many months of hard work, the new Jessie Barret Children's Chapel was officially opened in March of 2006. The chapel is for the young children who do not yet read, so their service is directed by a video.

The video steps through many of the elements of the complete Episcopal service that is occurring downstairs for their parents and older brothers and sisters.

Each week, new lessons and sermon videos are edited into the master video. Working with the video is a large puppet, Chuck, who also guides the service.

You can see in the video, below, that the chapel has miniature pews, an altar, a lectern and stunning paintings of organ pipes and stain glass windows. It is located on the second floor, just through the door at the top of the front stairs. If you have a small child who would love to participate, please bring him or her up any Sunday at 10 A.M.

This 8-minute clip just gives you a glimpse of some of the activities. If you access the web through a dial-up connection, choose the second (smaller video).
