CHRISTIAN
EDUCATION
If you are interested in joining an Education
for Ministry (EfM) group in the fall, there are two great groups
to consider. Calvary Episcopal Church on 4th
Street will be hosting a group on Wednesday nights from 5:30-8:00 pm, and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on Hubbards Lane still has room for more new members in their
Wednesday morning group. EfM is an internationally-known theological education
program for lay people, run by the School of Theology at the University of the
South. Students commit one year at a time to follow a four-year program of
theological study, reflection, and prayer in a small group setting. For more
information about EfM, please contact the Rev. Charles Hawkins, Callie Hausman
at Calvary (439-0992), or Moray Peoples at St. Matthew’s ( 836-1278) as soon as
possible.

OUTREACH
NEWS
There is a great need for volunteer assistance with the childcare
we offer to the children of parents who attend AA meetings at St. Mark’s on
Sunday evenings from 8:00-9:30 pm. If you are able to assist in any way,
whether it be once a month or on a more frequent basis, please contact Jamie
Ramsay at 905-0235.
UCHM also needs school supplies for the upcoming school
year: pencils, pens, markers, crayons, spiral notebooks, scissors, glue,
compasses, rulers, dry erase markers, hand sanitizer, Kleenex, pencil boxes,
Clorox wipes, and backpacks (plain, solid colors). In addition, there is
a need for middle and high school uniforms (pants, shorts, shirts – all
sizes). Please bring all donations to the parish office.
St. Mark’s continues to serve the evening meal at Wayside Christian Mission’s Men’s Shelter
on the fourth Wednesday of every month beginning at 4:45 pm. Volunteers are
needed to continue this special outreach endeavor. If you are interested in
participating or would like more information, please contact Judy Moore,
coordinator: 425-3582. Please note that
carpooling is available from the church, and the time commitment is just
several hours!
