foyers

Foyers are small groups of adult parishioners who meet approximately once a month for a light meal in one another’s homes. Stained glass window

Foyers are part of both the pastoral care and evangelism programs of the parish.

Foyer members take turns as hosts. These simple, inexpensive dinners provide wonderful opportunities for Christian fellowship and allow members of the St. Mark’s family to get to know one another in a relaxed social atmosphere. The only agenda is simply to have fun! Often, if the group prefers, the meal can be potluck with the host providing the entrée and each member bringing a dish to share. If desired, several members can even combine efforts and co-host a meal.

Interested persons are asked to sign up at the information center beginning September 1st, and groups will then be formed by the staff with the goal that each group be comprised of parishioners of varying ages, marital status, etc. Each group will be no larger than 8 – 10 persons.

Once group assignments have been made a convener will be named for each group, who will be asked to host the first gathering. It is hoped that the dinners can begin in October, and each group is asked to meet no fewer than six times and no more than eight times.

Persons are asked to sign up at their earliest convenience, and to come with an open mind and heart and an eagerness to get to know their fellow parishioners.

Sometimes the groups enjoy a cook-out like the pictures hosted by Debbie and Bob DeHoag above.
